How long can I wear the CUP?
A DIVINE CUP can absorb up to three times more than standard pads or tampons. This means most women only need to empty their DIVINE CUP once in the morning and once in the evening. You can wear it at night without any problems, but only for a maximum of 10 hours at a time.
What sizes, degrees of hardness and colors are available?
- Sizes : The DIVINE CUP menstrual cup is available in sizes S, M and L and adapts perfectly to your individual needs.
- Hardness levels : Choose between Soft for a gentle feel and Hard for extra stability and support.
- Colors : The DIVINE CUP is available in pink, mint, blue, purple and navy, so you can choose the color that suits your style.
How do I insert the CUP correctly?
Always wash your hands before inserting the Divine Cup. The Divine Cup is best inserted while squatting. You can also sit on the toilet or simply stand. Now fold the Divine Cup using one of the folding techniques .
Insert the DIVINE CUP with the folded side first.
Many women hear a "pop" as soon as they release the inserted cup. This means the cup is unfolding and the desired vacuum has been created. If you still feel creases or folds on the base of the Divine Cup, you need to gently rock it back and forth until it opens, or fold it again and insert it. Don't give up; it usually takes about three periods until you're comfortable using the Divine Cup.
How do I remove the CUP?
Always wash your hands before removing the Divine Cup. Then, grasp the base of the Cup with your thumb and index finger and squeeze. This releases the vacuum, allowing you to carefully remove the Cup. Important: Be sure to release the vacuum first before pulling the Cup out by the stem!
During which activities can I wear the CUP?
You can use the DIVINE CUP anywhere: during sports, on vacation, at work, or during your free time. You can even wear the DIVINE CUP while swimming without any problems: the stem of the menstrual cup is invisible from the outside. If the stem is too long for you, you can trim it off. Some women remove the stem entirely.
If you're abroad for an extended period, you'll be perfectly equipped with a DIVINE CUP. It can be used anywhere. If you want to be on the safe side, you can take a second CUP with you as a backup.
If you are out in nature for a longer period of time, it is advisable to always have some water or sanitary wipes with you – this way you can easily clean the DivineCup on the go.
Can the CUP be worn during sexual intercourse?
The DIVINE CUP should not be worn during sexual intercourse. Furthermore, it is not intended as a method of contraception. Since the stem of the DIVINE CUP is invisible from the outside, you can still be intimate with your partner.
Further information and application tips can be found in the package leaflet.
I have problems inserting
If inserting the DIVINE CUP doesn't work right away, there's no need to despair. It takes some time, practice, and patience until you feel confident using the menstrual cup. To make insertion easier, you can use water or a mild water-based lubricant.
If you've inserted the Divine Cup and still feel it, gently push it up a little further until it's in the correct position. To check if the Cup has unfolded, run your fingers along the base. If it feels round or oval, you've done everything correctly. If you still feel creases or folds on the base of the Divine Cup, gently move it back and forth until it opens, or fold it again and insert it.
You can also pull gently on the stem – if you feel resistance, the DIVINE CUP is sitting perfectly.
I have problems removing
Before removing the Divine Cup, you should wash your hands and relax. Removing the Cup is more difficult when you're stressed, as your body will tense up. Try to relax your jaw muscles—surprisingly, relaxed jaw muscles also help loosen the pelvic muscles.
Squat or sit on the toilet. If you can't reach the Divine Cup with your fingers, gently push down with your muscles.
If you've just woken up, wait about an hour before removing the cup. Gravity will cause the cup to move a little further down during this time.
If you still can't grasp the Divine Cup with your thumb and index finger, slide your index finger up along the edge of the cup until you reach the rim. Gently moving it back and forth will release the vacuum and allow you to remove the cup by the stem.
How do I properly clean and store the CUP?
Before using the Divine Cup for the first time, you should disinfect it: place it in a pot of boiling water for 3 minutes. To prevent the Cup from melting on the bottom of the pot, you can place it in the grates of a whisk and place the whisk and Cup in the boiling water.
After removing the Divine Cup after use, you should clean it. Rinse it first with cold water (to remove odor and discoloration) and then with warm water.
After your period, you should disinfect the DIVINE CUP. Boil the cup for 5–10 minutes. You don't need to do this during your period; it's sufficient to do it at the end of each period. If you're not using the DIVINE CUP, it's best to store it in an air-permeable container—never in a plastic or synthetic container that's impervious to air.
How do I clean the CUP when I'm on the go?
If you don't have access to running water in public restrooms or while on the go, always carry some water with you. You can also use toilet paper or oil- and fragrance-free soap to clean the cup.
What should I know about toxic shock syndrome (TSS)?
Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS): TSS is an infection caused by a specific bacterium that can lead to severe organ and circulatory failure. When this bacterium enters the bloodstream through an open wound or the uterus, it produces a toxin that triggers shock in the body and can be fatal. Most known cases of TSS to date have occurred during menstruation. However, men can also experience TSS. General signs of TSS include fever, vomiting, and diarrhea, as well as sunburn-like symptoms. If you notice one or more of these symptoms, remove the CUP immediately and seek medical attention immediately.
Can I wear a CUP even if I have an IUD?
Using an IUD and a DIVINE CUP is generally possible. However, be sure to consult your gynecologist first. Due to anatomical conditions, not all women can use an IUD and a menstrual cup.
What material is the DIVINE CUP made of?
DIVINE CUP is made in Germany and is made of 100% medical-grade silicone. Guaranteed free of chemicals, plasticizers, latex, proteins, bleach, deodorants, phthalates, alkylphenols, PVC, and BPA. The DIVINE CUP is fragrance-free and hypoallergenic.
